KiiiKiii Just Dropped Their Third EP. It's Their First Since Splitting Their Sound in Two Directions.

KiiiKiii released its third EP, "WhyKiiiKiii," Monday at 6 p.m. KST, led by title track "Pop Off Pop Off." Six tracks, eight physical editions, and a title concept built around a single joke: the album's name is a question the group is answering with the record itself.

Starship Entertainment confirmed the comeback on July 10, then rolled out teasers daily for three weeks - a highlight medley on August 3, a stop-motion video for "Candy Pink Magic Hole Flip Phone" on July 30, and a music video teaser for "Pop Off Pop Off" on August 7. The title track leans into a retro-meets-Gen-Z aesthetic, built on the same house-party visual language the group previewed in its teasers. The tracklist runs "Ever2Late!," "Hey Hi," "Pop Off Pop Off," "SWEET SOUR," "Candy Pink Magic Hole Flip Phone," and "Blue Hour."

This is KiiiKiii's third release in under a year and a half. The five-member group - Jiyu, Isol, Sui, Haeum, and Kiiya - debuted in March 2025 with "Uncut Gem," led by single "I Do Me," then returned in January with "Delulu Pack" and lead single "404 (New Era)." Where "Delulu Pack" leaned into moodier, more digital textures, "WhyKiiiKiii" pushes toward a brighter, hookier register - the kind of shift that signals a group still testing which version of itself sticks before locking into a signature sound.

Starship formed KiiiKiii in partnership with Kakao Entertainment, distributing the group's music through both labels since debut. In under eighteen months, the quintet has built a discography defined less by a single fixed identity than by rapid experimentation - a strategy that carries real risk if none of the sounds stick, but that has also kept each comeback from feeling like a repeat of the last.

Starship built the album's rollout around specificity rather than volume: five separate "Summer Issue" physical editions alongside a Guide Book, an Amenities version, and a Souvenir Digipack, each apparently aimed at a different collector rather than a single mass release. It's a strategy built for a fandom still being formed - enough variety to reward whoever's paying close attention, without yet betting on the scale a Guide Book or Souvenir edition usually implies for an established act.

Whether "Pop Off Pop Off" becomes the song that defines KiiiKiii's sound - or just the latest data point in a group still figuring out its identity - depends on what Starship greenlights next.
