The legendary Playboy Mansion is said to hit the real estate market next month, Daily Mail reported on Saturday.

After being the primary setting of several wild pool parties and serving as a house for hot playmates, the six-acre mansion situated in Holmby Hills, Los Angeles will be up for sale for around $200 million. The mansion is owned by Hugh Hefner, founder of Playboy magazine, and was built in 1927.

The Playboy Mansion's pool area and backyard is recognized around the world since it has been a backdrop to numerous celebrity-filled parties. The mansion itself has been featured in countless television productions, music videos, magazines, advertising events and movies such as "The House Bunny" and Eddie Murphy's "Beverly Hills Cop II."

Contrary to the idea that the mansion is "a grown-up fantasyland," one of its residents, Carla, said the security at the mansion is severely tight, Mirror reported on Jan. 3.

"You're definitely not allowed male visitors. If you break the rules, you get banned. Once you're out, you're out, you can't come back," she said.

Some real estate experts who have knowledge of the property said that the owner's selling price is too high.

"The house is a tear-down and the real value is the acreage, and that a comparable lot [was] sold recently in the area for $60 mil," TMZ reported Saturday. However, sources say the history and the popularity of the mansion increases its value by an additional $80 to $90 million.

Aside from the heavy price tag, the sale of the Playboy Mansion also comes with another condition - Hugh Hefner's life estate. This means whoever purchases the multi-million dollar property would have to play housemates with Hefner. He, along with his wife Crystal Harris, will continue to live in the house until he dies.

Moreover, buyers desiring to acquire the house are allowed to go on a tour of the property, but Hefner's room is strictly off limits.
