BMW News: BMW M2 Coupe To Debut At 2016 Detroit Auto Show
The latest buzz surrounding the auto community claims that German automaker BMW is getting ready to unveil the BMW M2 Coupe at the upcoming Detroit Auto Show, which will open within the next couple of days.
The highly anticipated compact coupe sports car will finally make its world debut in front of thousands of journalists and motoring experts who annually gather to the Motor City to kick off the auto show season.
Pre-launch photos of the BMW M2 Coupe were shared by BMW Motor Show Blog. The photos were taken during presentation trails on scene in Detroit.
As was previously rumored, the BMW M2 Coupe will be presented into the keen and critical eyes of experts and enthusiast.
The coupe will sport its traditional launch color, Long Beach Blue, which is also one of the four color variants the car will be available in once it hits the market.
The new BMW M2 Coupe sports a brand new six-cylinder in-line engine which has an integrated M TwinPower Turbo technology as well as three-liter displacement. The engine can produce up to 370 horsepower worth of power and 369 lb-ft maximum torque.
When the car is equipped with the optional M Double Transmission and the Launch Control is active, it can accelerate from zero to 100 km/h in just 4.3 seconds.
According to BMW Blog, there are rumors claiming that a facelift version of the BMW M2 Coupe is already in the works and is expected to hit the market sometime in 2017. While it might not be a significant upgrade, experts believe that the facelift means that BMW might add more color variants into the line as well as throw in additional horsepower into the engine.
Along with the BMW M2 Coupe, the BMW X4 M40i is also expected to debut at the upcoming 2016 Detroit Auto Show.
