Holly Holm – Ronda Rousey Fight Rematch To Tell A Different Story?
It has been confirmed that the Holly Holm - Ronda Rousey fight rematch won't come anytime soon. When this fight comes though, people are assured they will get a match of higher quality.
Sara McMann said the second edition of Holly Holm - Ronda Rousey fight will be better than the first one.
Holly Holm and Ronda Rousey first slugged it out in November last year wherein the former knocked out the latter in the second round, to the shock of the world.
McMann, currently the No. 12 pound-for-pound female MMA fighter in the world by MMARising.com, said Rousey is built to get back up and that was displayed few moments after her stinging loss.
"As somebody who is an Olympic athlete, who is also an Olympic medalist and a tournament athlete, it's completely insulting to me," McMann told MMAFighting.com. "It shows that people do not even understand what Ronda has actually done before. She got a bronze medal in the Olympics."
"That means she lost her Olympic dream, had her entire world crushed knowing she wasn't going to be an Olympic gold medalist and she rallied the troops and came back and got a bronze. In a matter of hours, she got herself back together," she added.
"That's how you get to that level. It was really, really frustrating to me. Don't think that she's not resilient and she can't adapt to those circumstances."
In the upcoming Holly Holm - Ronda Rousey fight rematch, McMann assured that the quick knockout is "not gonna happen twice."
But the much-awaited Holly Holm - Ronda Rousey fight rematch has to wait for now as UFC Prresident Dana White told Yahoo! Sports that the current Bantamweight Champion will have to defend her title first.
He also denied rumors claiming that the champion is set to fight Miesha Tate saying, "We don't have a fight for Holly yet. We have a lot of work to do."
As for Ronda Rousey, White assured that the 27-year old will be back in the octagon soon.
"You will see Ronda Rousey fight again," White said during his UFC Tonight appearance a few days ago.
"Ronda has dedicated the last three-plus years to working hard here. Not just fighting, but promoting and taking the sport and the UFC to a whole other level. Ronda has some well-deserved time off, but she will fight this year."
