Ellen DeGeneres And Portia Di Rossi Rumors: Ellen DeGeneres was awarded the Favorite Talk Show Host and Favorite Humanitarian Award at the People's Choice Awards. The awards were were presented Wednesday night, Jan. 6, 2016, in Los Angeles at a ceremony hosted by Jane Lynch. Each year the award goes to one man or woman in Hollywood who has done outstanding work in bettering the world.
Over the years, DeGeneres has raised for than $50 million for various charities and causes. She's raised $12.5 million for breast cancer research, $10 million for survivors of Hurricane Katrina; she's given $1.7 million to schools, $21.6 to charity, and $35 million to her own. The "Ellen DeGeneres Show" host called on her fans to do more good and be more loving.
'Thank you so much and Melissa, thank you, I love you, what wonderful things you said, you forgot gorgeous but that's okay,' Ellen told Melissa McCarthy when she was first called to the stage.
"This is crazy, I mean so, so deserved, but this is crazy. I mean I can't tell you how much this means to me I started my show and I just set out really just to make people happy and make people laugh and to get very, very rich."
"I don't think you have to have a talk show to be nice to people, to do what I'm doing. I just think that kindness is something that we should all have. That's an innate quality that we all have and we need more of that out there.
"I read an amazing quote recently: "What if there was no such thing as love, just proof of love?" I don't know if it was from the Bible or Instagram but it was very powerful to me,' she also said. 'I want everyone to know we all really really love one another and we need to get back to that. We need more of that right now in the world. That is what most of us feel."
DeGeneres did not personally thank wife Portia de Rossi, so fans can expect something in the tabloids about their breakup soon.
Ellen DeGeneres recently celebrated the 2,000th episode of her talk show. She celebrated by showing video of celebrities like Emily Blunt, Miley Cyrus, Justin Bieber, Halle Berry, Nicki Minaj, Kristen Wiig, Selena Gomez and the Modern Family screaming in terror. DeGeneres has performed 121 scares on The Ellen DeGeneres Show since it began.
