Natalie Cole Cause Of Death Revealed
Natalie Cole's family has revealed on Thursday that her cause of death is due to a heart failure brought on by idiopathic pulmonary arterial hypertension (IPAH), in a report by ABC News. The jazz and R&B singer died on New Year's Eve at the age of 65.
In addition, her family also stated that Cole underwent a kidney transplant back in 2009 which went on as a success. After the operation, she was diagnosed with IPAH.
Pulmonary hypertension, as written on the website for the Mayo Clinic, happens when there are extra tissue forming in the pulmonary arteries. This abnormality makes it a struggle for the blood to flow through the veins which will then cause blood pressure to go up. When a subliminal cause for the high blood pressure in the lungs can't be found, the condition will then be considered to be IPAH, the main cause of Natalie Cole's Death.
"This is a very serious and progressive disorder," according to the statement from Natalie Cole's family. "[Cole] responded well to PAH-specific agents over many years, during which she performed many concerts world-wide, but eventually succumbed to intractable right heart failure, an outcome that unfortunately commonly occurs in this progressive disorder, despite modern therapies."
Natalie Cole was the daughter of Nat King Cole, an iconic and legendary jazz singer. She was known for her hits like "This Will Be," "Our Love" and "Miss You Like Crazy." On Jan. 31, Thursday, she died at the age of 65.
Some friends of Natalie Cole were deeply saddened by her death, and an obvious cause for her fans to mourn. One of her friends who made a statement about her death is Tony Bennett. "I am deeply saddened to hear of the passing of Natalie Cole, as I have cherished the long friendship I had with her, her father Nat, and the family over the years," said Bennett, as reported by Korea Portal.
