Emma Stone In Talks To Play Cruella De Vil In Upcoming Disney Origin Movie

Emma Stone is in talks to play Cruella de Vil in the upcoming Disney origin movie. Have you ever wondered why Cruella De Vil became so horrible?

Kelly Marcel (50 Shades of Grey, Saving Mr. Banks) is writing the script which is intended to be an origin story of the character. Aline Brosh McKenna worked on an early version of the script.

The 27-year-old actress is reportedly is in early negotiations to portray the iconic Disney villainess Cruella de Vil from Disney's '101 Dalmations' in the new movie, 'Cruella'.

De Vil was obsessed with capturing the Dalmatians in the 1961 animated Disney classic.

Glenn Close played Cruella de Vil in the 1996 live-action film produced by John Hughes that the character her the head of a fashion house.

Stone last appeared in Aloha. She is next set to star in Damien Chazelle's musical La La Land, where she reteams with Ryan Gosling. Stone is also in pre-production for Battle of the Sexes as tennis star Billie Jean King. "Battle of the Sexes" is the third project Hollywood is developing about King and Riggs but it is expected to be the first one in front of cameras.

Disney's live-action re-imagining of the 101 Dalmatians character has no director. Disney reportedly wants to get it filming by the end of the year.
