Charlotte Hornets News: Jeremy Lin To Be Sidelined By Injury? Linsanity Revival Dropped?
Charlotte Hornets star Jeremy Lin is expected to sit on the bench through the next couple of games due to a lingering lower back injury, prompting fans to drop their dream of a Linsanity revival.
A report claimed that Jeremy Lin's lower back injury caused him to miss some important practice sessions with the team, and fans fear that he might be benched in future games because of the nagging injuries.
The 6-3 points guard's lingering injuries have caused many fans to believe that reviving Linsanity, the monicker he earned while still playing for the New York Knicks, might well be behind him after all.
Lin said in a recent interview that the move to Charlotte from the Los Angeles Lakers has brought a sigh of relief in his hectic and stressful schedule.
In a statement acquired by Chinese media outlet Xinhua, Lin said, "When the free agency time came around, we had done a lot of homework and research before that to see what the best fits were. Of all the final options, I felt very confident in Charlotte, I'm just happy to be here."
Prior to his current stint with the Charlotte Hornets, Jeremy Lin played a major role in the Lakers' team reconstruction effort where he played wing man to future hall of famer Kobe Bryant.
Jeremy Lin has already played for a handful of NBA teams throughout his career. These include the New York Knicks, Golden State Warriors and the Houston Rockets. Linsanity signed a two-year contract with the Charlotte Hornets in July 2015 for $4.4 million.
Despite suffering from a sprained ankle, Jeremy Lin was able to start in the recent game against the Phoenix Suns. He played for 29 minutes and scored 15 points on a 6-9 shooting. He added five rebounds and 2 assists to his game stats.
The Charlotte Hornets lost to the Suns, 102-111. It is still unclear whether Jeremy Lin will play in the Hornet's next game against the Los Angeles Lakers because of his lower back injury.
