'Sailor Moon Crystal' Season 3 Release Confirmed: New Season To Assemble 10 Senshi; Death Busters Arc Revealed

Not long after the final episode of the "Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon Crystal" season 2 was aired, the reboot of the hit Japanese manga series "Sailor Moon Crystal" was announced alongside reports which claimed that the new season will bring all 10 Senshi together including Sailor Uranus, Sailor Neptune, Sailor Saturn, Sailor Moon, and Sailor Chibbi.

Moreover, it was also announced by the anime's website that the new season will feature the Death Busters arc from the fifth and sixth volumes of the original "Sailor Moon" manga created by the well-known artist Naoko Takeuchi.

In the storyline, the Death Busters is a group of antagonists whose goal is to restore the Mistress 9. Mistress 9 is a Daimon from Tau Nebula, an evil spirit who serves her master Pharaoh 90, one of the strongest enemies of Sailor Moon that she failed to destroy.

However, the return of the Death Busters was not the only hint that made the fans more excited, rumor has it that Witches 5 might also be introduced in the third season. Witches 5 is a separate group of the Death Busters that replaces a person's soul using Daimon eggs. 

Though the full casting for the most awaited reboot of "Sailor Moon Crystal" has not been confirmed yet, rumor has it that Kotono Mitsuishi will reprise the lead role for the manga series with other cast to play for the 10 Senshi including Rina Satou as Sailor Mars, Hisako Kanemoto as Sailor Mercury, Ami Koshimizu as Sailor Jupiter, and Shizuka Itou as Sailor Venus.

There were several criticisms on the series during its first season in July 2014 because of the said animation and lack of character innovation. However, they did not make a huge impact on the fans' demands, which made the show creators decide to extend the series to its third season.

Though the exact release date has not been dropped yet, "Sailor Moon Crystal" season 3 is said to debut this year.
