South Korean Companies to Showcase Their Newest Technology Innovations at The Annual Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas
South Korean companies were in attendance at the annual Consumer Electronics Show (CES), which took off Monday, Jan. 6, in Las Vegas and are expected to showcase their latest technological innovations.
According to US News smart cars are reportedly the major highlight of this year's convention. Different advancing battery technology along with automated driving programs that enhance electric vehicles will also be showcased at the event by 115 car manufacturers and car parts producers.
Korea Joongang Daily reported Monday that Souh Korea's second-largest automobile maker, Kia Motors, is holding a press conference at the show for the first time. To further the disucssion on innovative cars eight keynote speakers are expected to give a speech at the event, namely Dr. Herbert Diess, Volkswagen's head of passenger cars, and Mary Barra, CEO of General Motors.
A showcase at the Consumer Electronics Show will also cover exhibits of automotive parts.
CES organizers said in a press release that the exhibit room is approximately more than 200,000 square feet, a 25 percent increase from last year's convention. Among the technology introduced at the show includes parking assistance, collision avoidance and emergency brake features for cars. Audience members will also get the chance to test the latest driverless, energy-efficient cars.
Electronics companies are also presenting their latest gadgets at the four-day event. Samsung Electronics is expected to launch its next-generation, high-definition TV, which boasts the new quantum-dot technology. The South Korean Company will also demonstrate its newest virtual reality device, dubbed as the Samsung Gear VR Rink.The VR unit is a motion controller that enhances the way in which people connect the Gear VR headset to games and apps. Rink slips into the user's palms and at the same time provides motion controls for the games played with the Gear VR.
Samsung Electronic will also unveil a new "three-layer security solution" known as GAIA for its range of smart TVs. The new gadget will secure information stored on the devices and data "between the TV and (IOT) service.
