On Friday, Polish man Krzysztof Szpakowski claimed he has found a massive Nazi shelter at the site of the alleged gold train tunnel dating back to the World War II regime, which can accommodate thousands of people.

According to the Telegraph on Friday, Szpakowski claims his discovery was evidenced by decades of collected data, which includes old documents, statements from witnesses, and radar and dowsers examination of the location.

In a press conference hosted by Walbrzych regional authorities, who have already requested for state funds to aid in the exploration of the alleged Nazi shelter, Szpakowski said he expects to find appliances and weaponries inside the tunnel and not a 500-feet-long armored train, which legend has it carries golds worth billions of dollars, as well as loots from treasure hunters.

Chicago Tribune noted on Friday that historians claim that only 10 percent of the dozens of kilometers of tunnels have been discovered, which have sparked the curiosity of explorers and treasure hunters.

According to CNBC in an article published on Friday, the Nazis were believed to have used several trains during the World War II to transport stolen items from Eastern Europe back to Berlin. Some of the trains are believed to have been left behind in the tunnels as Soviet forces advanced in 1945.

The legendary gold train is said to be located near Ksiaz castle and the tunnel is reportedly near the village of Walim. Polish officials encouraged explorers to take caution in their quest to find the Nazi gold train as the area needs get rid of trees before search can commence.

A Polish and a German reportedly found the Nazi gold train last month and filed for a "finder's claim," which under Polish law awards the person 10 percent of the total value of the find. A treasure hunter, however, believes that the two men may have found the legendary train but not the treasures that they expect are contained in it.
