Basketball fans worldwide were intrigued with Charlotte Hornets' Jeremy Lin sporting a new hairstyle.

However, the basketball superstar recently got called out as "naïve and irresponsible" over on Facebook after posting a comment about the recent tragedy regarding "The Silicon Valley Suicides," according to sources.

"The pressure to succeed in high school is all too familiar to me," Charlotte Hornets point guard Jeremy Lin posted on his Facebook account about his reflections on the recent suicides amongst high school students that transpired, courtesy of the Charlotte Observer.

"The world will always need you to accomplish more, do more, succeed more," he wrote on his account.

"After I got into Harvard there was the pressure to get good grades and stand out at Harvard. After 'Linsanity' there was the pressure to have great performances every night, to become an All-Star, to win championships. I still dream big and give my all in everything I do, but I know that success and failure are both fleeting," Jeremy Lin concluded.

Although the recently-acquired Charlotte Hornets player received praises for paving way to talk about the tension of academic pressure that ushers students to commit suicide, Jeremy Lin received a bad-rap as well for posting the message.

Lin was called "naïve and irresponsible" by Youm Euge and commented that doing one's best is not enough for most people, the Charlotte Observer claimed.

"Thing is Jeremy, your best got you to Harvard," Euge wrote.

"You are also a professional NBA player. Doing your best and trusting God worked for you just fine. That's not enough for everyone else," he added, courtesy of the source.

Jeremy Lin signed a biannual exception in July with the Charlotte Hornets for a two-year $4.3 million deal, and has since been seen sporting the teal Hornets jersey along with a new hairstyle, as reported by Inside SoCal.

The player expressed to reporters that his new hair is "just something different" and that he's the only one dealing with the public critique, as stated by the source.

In a recent interview, Jeremy Lin revealed that the inspiration for his Super Saiyan-looking makeover was his teammate Spencer Hawes, and that he suggested that this is all part of a long-term goal for his hair, Chron elaborated.
