HBO's 'The Leftovers' Season 2 Premiere At The ATX Television Festival

"The Leftovers" fans will be able to enjoy season 3 of the series that was announced to be renewed rather than being cancelled.

HBO president Michael Lombardo, who first publicized the news on Dec. 10, said the company was glad that the the show is moving forward. It can be noted, though, that despite all the good reviews that they received since the second season, the third one will be the series' finale, according to Day Herald.

Tom Perrota and Damon Lindelof made a request from HBO to allow them finish the show's story, which was approved.

"This show has proven to be one of the most distinctive HBO series and we are extremely proud of its unrivaled originality, which has resulted in such a passionate following by our HBO viewers," said Lombardo reported Christian Today.

"We admire and fully support Damon's artistic vision and respect his decision to bring the show to its conclusion next season," the statement continued.

"The Leftovers" upcoming renewed season 3 actor, Justin Theroux wished their fans a "'Happy New Year" through Instagram in an underwater shot image. The actor played as Kevin Garvey, an ex-cop during the season 2, according to Daily Mail.

Actor, Lindelof revealed that the upcoming new season will come to an end however, it will not be cancelled rather will go through a different style as part of its finale.

He said that "I'll be honest with you, that idea this could be the end was never articulated," Den of Geek disclosed.

"I think we want to design every season of 'The Leftovers' as a novel, as opposed to a piece in a trilogy," the statement continued.

He depicts the ending where Nora will be with her baby while Laurie will allegedly leave the Guilty Remnant and reunite with Tom, and Jill's life will be saved by Kevin. The idea that Lindelof had in mind, will show that all characters will happily end up finding each other despite all the trouble that happened.

Fans don't have to worry because the show will not be cancelled but they have to wait for the announcement about "The Leftover" renewed season 3 premiere date. As of the moment, there were no official statement released yet by the company.
