‘Gravity Falls’ Season 2 To Host Pre-Finale Shows! ‘Weirdmageddon 3’ To Air Feb. 15
While it has already been leaked that "Gravity Falls" season 2 finale will be aired on Feb. 15, recent reports revealed that the cartoon series will be hosting a half-hour special and a 68-hour marathon will be made prior to the "Weirdmageddon 3" airing.
In its report, Variety shared that Disney XD, which has already confirmed the program's final airing date, will be showing off "'exclusive facts' about the mythos-heavy show" on Feb. 8 with "Gravity Falls" character Time Baby hosting it.
The outlet disclosed that the season 2 finale, which is called "'Weirdmageddon Part 3: Take Back the Falls' is penned by Hirsch and 'Gravity Falls' vets Mark Rizzo, Jeff Rowe, Josh Weinstein and Shion Takeuchi, and directed by Stephen Sandoval."
It can be recalled that "Weirdmageddon Part 2: Escape from Reality" was aired on Nov. 23.
Meanwhile, in a tweet on Dec. 22, show creator and executive producer Alex Hirsch appeared to be melancholic when he announced that Kristen Schaal just had her final recording for the voice of Mabel Pines.
"My TV sis @kristenschaaled reacts to hearing that she just recorded the very last Mabel line," he captioned the short clip he posted on Twitter. "I'll miss you Kristen!"
Just like Schaal, Hirsch is among the "key voice cast members" of "Gravity Falls" season 2, along with Jason Ritter and Linda Cardellini.
On the other hand, TV Line reported that "a 68-hour marathon is set to start unspooling Friday, Feb. 12 at 11 P.M."
When it comes to the half-hour special, the outlet stated that commentary from Hirsch is expected.
As for the "Gravity Falls" season 2 finale called "Weirdmageddon 3: Take Back The Falls," the site claimed that "Ford discovers Bill's true motives and then a final confrontation with Bill leads to the Pines family's ultimate fate and greatest sacrifice."
