Robotics Tomorrow reported on Tuesday that YS-Thermtech Co., Ltd. (YST) in Korea is the newest addition to Adept Technology's list of global distributors. YST is one of the companies behind industrial furnaces and automated equipment, such as metallurgy, photovoltaics, advanced materials and many more for manufacturing companies.

YST has been in business for 35 years and the company has continuously provided its service through expertise in vacuum, thermal and automation technologies. YST has also reportedly ordered 100 units of autonomous intelligent vehicle (AIV) products from Adept Technology, which shall be delivered to the company within the next three years.

"We are pleased to welcome YST as Adept's newest distributor in Korea," says president and CEO of Adept Technology Rob Cain. "YST began by selling industrial furnaces in 1981 and over the last 10 years has added exciting products for renewable energy and advanced materials. They bring significant experience delivering high-quality integrated systems and services to their customers throughout Korea and many other countries."

YST will be marketing and distributing Adept's mobile products in South Korea, recently launching a mobile robot solutions technical center. The facility will showcase a Lynx line of Adept along with the latest Lynx Enterprise Manager 1100 fleet management system responsible for controlling the operations of Lynx mobile robots fleet.

"We are extremely excited to partner with Adept as its exclusive distributor to promote and introduce these highly innovative and intelligent mobile robots into the Korean markets," said YST CEO Colin Kang.

"YST has been thoroughly evaluating Adept's Lynx autonomous vehicles, and we believe Lynx is the best product in its class on the global market. The integrated safety systems are designed to allow the vehicles to travel independently and easily through congested work environments without the need for infrastructure modifications such as tracks, lines, magnets, or reflectors."

"We are excited to show how Lynx robots will operate safely alongside people, reducing manual transport tasks, enabling 'lean' workflow processes, and increasing operational efficiencies by allowing manufacturers to redeploy personnel to higher value-add tasks," adds Kang. "The unique capabilities of these AIVs along with Adept's powerful and easy- to-deploy software will enable our customers to realize higher levels of flexibility and productivity through new material handling and transport solutions that have been previously unachievable."

Bloomberg noted in its Industrials Sector that Adept Technology was founded in 1983. Since then, it has sold industrial and mobile robots for a wide range of uses, including electronics, medical and automotive industries. Its latest product, the Adept Lynx, is an indoor mobile robot that handles and transports goods. It is capable of self-navigation for easier movement in tight hallways and busy environments.
