Rami Malek Cancels Other Commitments For ‘Mr. Robot’ Season 2; Show Steps Up With Darker Plot?
As production of "Mr. Robot" season 2 has finally gotten a go signal, the show's lead star has hinted of what to expect about the upcoming 10 episodes.
In an interview with Vulture, Rami Malek revealed that he has decided to focus on the project, thus, he is not keen about accepting other offers while doing the drama-techno thriller TV series, although he hardly gave out spoilers of the upcoming plot.
"I will say this, it doesn't get any easier for any one of the characters on the show - especially myself," the 34-year-old actor who plays Elliot Alderson in the show dished.
"After [Sam] pitched me this season, I called my agents and said, I don't really feel inclined to do anything between now and then," he teased about "Mr. Robot" season 2, while adding that it surely needs "a lot of energy."
"I want to get it right," he added. "I want the show to continue being as accurate and authentic as it has been this past year."
He continued by saying, "And the only way to do that is to give it a hundred percent of my attention, which is about to happen. Is happening."
Meanwhile, show creator and director Sam Esmail suggested that BD Wong's character Whiterose will be seen more in the second season.
"[BD Wong] is amazing in the first season," he shared about "Mr. Robot" season 2. "I'd be a fool not to bring him back."
On the other hand, Los Angeles Times previously reported that the plot of the show's second installment will be "darker-- if such a thing is possible"
The report noted that "With its spookily timely story lines and a stunning late-season twist, 'Mr. Robot' generated rave reviews and considerable buzz, and suddenly turned USA into a serious player in the prestige TV game."
"Mr. Robot" season 2 has been rumored to be released in July 2016.
