'Sesame Street' Debut HBO Trailer Released For 2016; More Movies Will Be Aired Too!
Sesame Street will make its debut on HBO along with a new trailer and poster for the upcoming new episodes in 2016.
EVP and creative director at Sesame Workshop, Brown Johnson said that, "Families will see fun and fresh changes to Sesame Street and can depend on their favorite Muppet friends to provide them with engaging and educational content," according to IGN.
The popular TV series for adults and children will showcase their 46th episode on Jan. 16 that will include Big Bird, Cookie Monster, Oscar the Grouch, the count and Elmo. Also Stars such as Tina Fey, Pharrell, Jon Hamm and Gwen Stefani was in the trailer, according to The Verge.
Sesame Street will debut with two half an hour episodes that will air on HBO at 9 am ET and will also be up for streaming on HBO Go and HBO Now. They will broadcast new and 150 classic shows in the TV series as well as on PBS.
PBS will continue to air older episodes on PBS Kids during weekends and was reported to have new ones after nine months after its initial roll out. They had a contract agreement signed in August to allow HBO to air five seasons, which will be 35 episodes in one year.
In the trailer, a "Star Wars" skit was also featured that include a Han Solo puppet, Cookie Monster together with a cookie partner.
Along with the Sesame Street debut on its new broadcasting home, other movies will be aired in 2016 such as "Mad Max: Fury Road," "Borat: Cultural Learnings of America for Make Benefit Glorious Nation of Kazakhstan," "Final Destination 3," "A Knight's Tale," "The Godfather Epic" and more, according to CNET.
On Jan. 31, "This is Where I Leave You" and "Gone Girl" will stop streaming on HBO Now and HBO Go.
