Pokémon 2DS Japan Release Date Confirmed; Transparent Console In Four Different Colors?
Pokémon 2DS in Japan was already released by Nintendo in four different color variants to choose from.
Pre-order will start on Dec. 26 for the console with pre-installed Pokémon in Blue, Red, Green and Yellow. It will be rolled out on Feb. 27, which is the similar day for the 3DS Virtual model. The date chosen will also be the 20th Anniversary for the game, according to The Verge.
The upcoming consoles will be in transparent colors similar to Game Boy however, it will have a game inspire home menu display, 4GB SD card, poster and stickers from Kanto region's map, according to Nintendo Insider.
Players who will own the device will be able to receive a download code for Pokémon Mew that will also work with Pokémon Omega Ruby, Alpha Sapphire, X, Y and Virtual Console, according to Polygon.
The Pokémon 2DS blue variant in Japan is exclusively available at Pokémon Centers along with four other bundles. A new 3DS cover will be out on the same day of its release in February, according to Nintendo Life.
It Initially costs $129.99 from the retail price of $169.99 in the U.S before the price got cut off earlier this year. It was also released in Europe and Australia in 2013 that sold 3.92 million units that aimed to deliver a product that is "new, unique, different, and bring more people into this category that we love," according to Wikipedia.
Nintendo first announced the Pokémon 2DS in Japan in November for the 3DS Virtual Console, which will cost 9,980 yen converted to an estimated amount of $83.
As of the moment, the company hasn't released any statement with regards to shipping the units or special bundles outside the country. The original game will also be available to replay on Feb. 27 for Western gamers.
