New Hermione Granger Actress Release Statement; Author Into Character's 'Black' Version?

"Harry Potter and the Cursed Child" will feature a new Hermione Granger actress that has been talked about in the web.

The two-part play will feature Noma Dumezweni who was born in Swaziland before they moved to England. She will take the role as an adult version of the character after 19 years from the event of the last J.K Rowling's popular book series.

The author made a statement on Twitter and said that, "Canon: brown eyes, frizzy hair and very clever," according to CNN. "White skin was never specified. Rowling loves black Hermione," she added.

Emma Watson was the first actress to play the same character in its several film adaptation for years. Noma Dumezweni also posted a tweet of her reaction on her account after fans took the news on social media.

The new Hermione Granger actress, Noma Dumezweni for the "Harry Potter and the Cursed Child" will still be portraying the character's personality rather than try to have something in common with what the fans used see, according to The New York Times.

The main cast will also include Jamie Parker as Harry Potter and Paul Thornley as Ron Weasley. Noma Dumezweni, 45 was born from South African parents and was also popular in London. She was known for her role in "Linda" and won an Olivier award for her participation in "A raisin in the sun" in 2006.

Before she was casted for the character, Kim Cattrall was the initial choice before she dropped out during the last minute. Due to the situation, Dumezweni was called to replace her and managed to prepare in a week for "Harry Potter and the Cursed Child" play.

The actress said, "I had my script on stage until the beginning of last week," reported by The Guardian during their interview. "I'm from a South African background and there's this phrase ubuntu 'I am because we are'," she added.

"I'm starting to believe in the universe right now, I really am. I'm in my late 40s, and if you look back things do happen for a bloody reason," she continued in a statement.

There were 175,000 tickets sold on the first day. The play would showcase the life of an older version of Harry Potter who was described as an "overworked employee of the Ministry of Magic, a husband and father of three school-age children," according to CNN.
