Christmas Eve Store Hours Announced For Last Minute Shoppers; Details Released!
Last minute shoppers will be able to buy gifts at selected establishments on Christmas eve, because the store hours have been announced for those dates.
This aims to accommodate busy people that wanted to shop for gifts if ever they can't make it during the normal working hours. Retailers have posted announcements for their consumers who are planning to do late night shopping for the holidays.
Kohl's announced that they will be open for straight 170 hours that has started on Tuesday at 8 a.m and will last until 6 in the evening of Dec. 24. While, Target and Macy's will allow consumers to shop until 5 or 6 p.m.
Toys R Us will extend store hours on Christmas eve until 9 p.m. From Dec. 19 and on Tuesday they will be open from 6 a.m and will close at 2 a.m. On Dec. 23 they will be also open for 39 hours until 9 p.m of the following day.
J.C. Penney decided to open earlier than normal at 8 a.m until Dec. 23. On the next day, they will welcome buyers at 7 a.m and their closing hours differs depending on the location. They will be closed on Dec. 25 and will resume business on Dec. 26, according to Time.
To add to the list of stores that released their store hours for Christmas, Walmart will be open until 8 p.m on Christmas eve and has started to receive orders for standard deliveries on Dec. 20 while rush deliveries will be catered until Dec. 22. Buyers can also pick their orders at the local store until 6 p.m on Dec. 23, according to myfox8.com.
The action taken by most retailers was to increase their sales in favor of the holiday season.
President of research and data firm Retail Metrics, Ken Perkins said, "I would expect the promotional level to elevate here," according to USA Today.
"This is their opportunity to catch that consumer and really convert," the statement continued.
Consumers have since noted the published store hours for Christmas eve.
