Kumho Tire, South Korea's premiere tire manufacturer, won design awards for four of its latest products from two ceremonies held in South Korea and the United States.

According to Korea Times, Kumho revealed Friday that its Sealant and SOLUSU HA31 tires were given the 2015 Korea Good Design Awards by the Korea Institute of Design Promotion (KIDP), which is a state-controlled agency that promotes industrial designs.

More specifically, the Sealant Tire garnered the KIDP CEO award while the SOLUSU HA31 Tire took home the KIDP main prize.

Having won both awards, the two tires were conferred the Good Design mark by the KIDP, a recognition given to products that guarantee exquisite design, functionality and efficiency.

Meanwhile, Kumho's ECSTA PS91 and KRA50 tires were hailed winners at the 2015 North America Design Awards held on Tuesday.

The ECSTA PS91 was designed for racing and other high-performance vehicles. The KRA50 is utilized for trucks and buses.

The North America Design Awards is organized by the Chicago Athanaeum: Museum of Architecture and Design, in partnership with the European Center for Architecture, Art, Design and Urban Studies. The award-giving body has been recognizing industrial designs that boast superior quality since 1950.

In June this year, three of Kumho's tire products won at the Green Good Design Award 2015, which is also organized by the Chicago Athanaeum.

The Ecowing S, Ecowing ES91 and Wattrun VA31 were recognized for being "environment-friendly and fuel-efficient tires," Korea Times reported Jun. 10.

A Kumho Tire official said in June, "We will continue to hone our expertise in manufacturing the state-of-the-art products and spare no efforts to secure global competitiveness."

Aside from raking in tire design awards, Kumho Tire USA Inc. was also awarded the 2015 Event Technology Award for Best touch/Gesture ad category for its virtual NBA ad in New York City, Tire Reviewnoted Nov. 20.

With the company's recent victories, it has stamped itself as the South Korean leader in industrial design.
