'Samurai Jack' Reboot To Air On Adult Swim; Official Release Date Announced!
Fans that grew up watching the widely acclaimed Cartoon Network program, "Samurai Jack", will be ecstatic to find out that the series will have a reboot, which was officially announced by Adult Swim to air in 2016, as stated by sources.
It has already been well over a decade since fans have seen the last episode of the popular Cartoon Network television series. However, it was recently announced that "Samurai Jack" will get a reboot by Adult Swim and that it was officially slated to run in 2016, as reported by The Verge.
It was also announced that the "Samurai Jack" reboot by Adult Swim will still be under the supervision of its creator, Genndy Tartakovsky, who is a well-known animator for other acclaimed series such as "Dexter's Laboratory" and "Star Wars: Clone Wars" and big screen films such as the "Hotel Transylvania" franchise, as stated by Coming Soon.
When Genndy Tartakovsky was doing promotional runs for his latest film, "Hotel Transylvania 2", he was asked in an interview by Brandon Davis of Comic Book about the "Samurai Jack" series.
"I think through the years, after we finished 'Jack', almost every year it seems like 'Samurai Jack' has gotten more and more popular and more and more people have seen it," the animator said, courtesy of Comic Book.
"I feel like it's culminating to a fever pitch almost. I feel like it's time to maybe finish the story," he added.
"We've been trying to get the feature off the ground but maybe that's just fate's way of saying this is a television thing and maybe it should be a mini-series or something like that," he further added, courtesy of the source.
In light of the era of Peak TV, it only means that no concept is off-limits for a reboot, such as "The X-Files", "Gilmore Girls", and even "Twin Peaks", as stated by EW.
The transition to Adult Swim may suggest that the new episodes for the "Samurai Jack" reboot may be even darker and more violent that the original version, as speculated by the source.
So, get ready because "Jack" is back.
