‘Samurai Jack’ For 2016 Returns With New Episodes; New Season In Production!

"Samurai Jack" for 2016 returns with new episodes for the new season, according to ComingSoon.net.

The original "Samurai Jack" cartoon series was shown on Cartoon Network's Adult Swim. The cartoon series ran from 2001-2004. It had 52 episodes in its whole run. The creator of the series is Genndy Tartakovsky who also made "Hotel Transylvania" and its sequel, "Hotel Transylvania 2."

After the series ended, the creator teased the character's return. There were also rumors that the cartoon series will have a movie.

"Samurai Jack" was cancelled before it could finish back in 2004 but that all changed with an announcement from Toonami, according to iDigitalTimes. It has announced the return of the series with brand new episodes.

"Adult Swim is excited to announce that JACK IS BACK," read the official statement from Toonami. "Creator and executive producer Genndy Tartakovsky continues the epic story of Samurai Jack with a new season that will premiere on Adult Swim's Toonami block in 2016."

"The new season is currently in production in Los Angeles at Cartoon Network Studios," continued the statement.

The trailer shows what "Samurai Jack" in 2016 will be showing when it returns.

"I feel like it's culminating to a fever pitch almost." said Tartakovsky in a previous interview with ComicBook.com. "I feel like it's time to maybe finish the story."

"We've been trying to get the feature off the ground but maybe that's just fate's way of saying this is a television thing and maybe it should be a mini-series or something like that," continued his answer.

The episodes are currently in production in Los Angeles until "Samurai Jack" in 2016 returns. The series will be handled once again by its creator and executive producer. It will still continue the story of "Samurai Jack." The teaser art also features Aku, the villain, and Jack in full samurai gear.
