Babyface Receives 2015 Soul Train Legend Award; Host Erykah Badu Dissed Iggy Azalea!
Kenneth "Babyface" Edmonds received the 2015 Soul Train Legend Award and was also given a 16-minute star-studded tribute by R&B legends, "Boyz II Men", Fantasia, Brandy, Bobby Brown and Tevin Campbell, according to BET.
The medley featured the best of the best in the 90s and Babyface's friend, collaborator and fellow record producer L.A. Reid presented the honor, revealed VH1.
The super stars of soul music gathered Nov. 6, but the show was not broadcast until Sunday night.
The awards show did not end without controversy. 44-year old singer, Erykah Badu entered Las Vegas' Orleans Arena on a hoverboard and dissed Iggy Azalea during her awards monologue.
While pretending to speak on the phone, Badu turns away from Young Thug and André 3000 saying she is "banning all rap this year."
Then she continues on pretending to answer another call. "Who's this? Iggy Azalea? No no no, you can come, 'cause what you're doing is definitely not rap," answered Badu, which drew a loud reaction from the audience, reported Pitchfork.
Erykah Badu later retweets a quote that criticized her, and responded by typing, "kill joy."
Life would be wonderful if women celebrated each other instead of emulating garbage like @fatbellybella You have my support @IGGYAZALEA

Badu then continued to retweet praises from fans who enjoyed her hosting, shared the Daily News.
Another event that stirred up some controversy is when a promising performance by "Empire's" V. Bozeman was cut short to make way for commercial. This was followed by a generously timed performance by R. Kelly, who closed out the broadcast.
Some viewers may wonder if BET deliberately included Kelly at the end, knowing that the singer's reputation as a sexual predator may heighten the show's social media mentions, shared the Washington Post.
R. Kelly was introduced by Badu as one "who has done more for black folks than anybody."
Still, the show had more highlights than lows. Other awardees were Jill Scott who won the "Lady of Soul Award" and "Watch Me's (Whip/Nae Nae)" Silentó, won the "Best New Artist" award.
Aside from hosting the Soul Train Music Awards, Badu DJed featuring Eddie Levert, Chrisette Michelle, Lala Hathaway and K-Ci Haley.
