MONSTA X September 2025 Comeback: K-pop Group Returns After Military Service

Korean boy band MONSTA X has confirmed their highly anticipated comeback for September 2025, marking their return as a complete six-member group following military service completions.
During a July 16 press conference at Conrad Seoul, member Joohoney announced: "I'll just tell you the month when our new album will be released. It's coming out in September. It'll be released as quickly as possible in September."
Kihyun had previously revealed their preparation status: "We're already preparing for our comeback. We already finished recording a long time ago. I can't tell you the exact time frame, but within the company, the date has already been set. A significant portion has already been prepared."
The announcement comes during celebrations for the group's 10th anniversary, with MONSTA X releasing "NOW PROJECT vol.1" on May 14, 2025 - exactly a decade after their debut.
All members except youngest I.M have completed their mandatory military service. Hyungwon became the fifth member to discharge on May 13, 2025, after serving one year and six months, completing the group's military obligations.
The discharge timeline saw Shownu return in April 2023, followed by Minhyuk in October 2024, Joohoney in January 2025, and Kihyun in February 2025.
Members describe their upcoming release as offering a "fresh" take on MONSTA X's signature style. The group emphasized their confidence in the album's quality, with multiple songs considered strong enough to serve as title tracks.
Before the September comeback, MONSTA X will perform their "CONNECT X" concert series at KSPO Dome from July 18-20. This marks their first complete group concert in years, with previous shows either held online due to COVID-19 or missing members due to military service.
The concerts will feature live band performances for the first time, fulfilling a long-standing fan request.
"NOW PROJECT vol.1" featured 10 re-recorded tracks originally released between 2021-2023, now including all six members' voices for the first time. The album served as a meaningful reunion gift for fans who waited through the military service period.
MONSTA X debuted in 2015 and has built a global fanbase through hits like "Hero," "DRAMARAMA," and "Shoot Out." Their September comeback represents a new chapter as the complete group prepares to reclaim their position in the competitive K-pop landscape.
The group's fanbase, known as MONBEBE, has eagerly awaited this full reunion after years of supporting individual members and incomplete lineups during the military service period.
