YoonA and Ahn Bo Hyun Team Up in Supernatural Romance "Pretty Crazy"

YoonA and Ahn Bo Hyun are set to star in the romantic comedy "Pretty Crazy," directed by Lee Sang Geun. The film gained international attention when its poster was unveiled at the 2024 Cannes Film Festival, marking a significant moment for Korean cinema.
"Pretty Crazy" follows Jeong Seon Ji (YoonA), an aspiring pâtissier hiding a dark secret: she transforms into an uncontrollable devil every night at 2 AM due to a mysterious curse. The catch? Daytime Seon Ji has no memory of her nighttime behavior.
Everything changes when she encounters her unemployed neighbor Gil Goo (Ahn Bo Hyun) during one of her nocturnal transformations. Seon Ji's family hires Gil Goo as a night caretaker to watch over her. As Gil Goo falls for the daytime version of Seon Ji while managing her nighttime alter ego, he becomes determined to break her curse.
This marks YoonA's reunion with director Lee Sang Geun, who previously helmed the hit film "Exit" (2019) that attracted 9.42 million viewers. The supporting cast includes Sung Dong Il as Seon Ji's father Jeong Jang Soo and Joo Hyun Young as her sharp-witted cousin Jeong Ah Ra.
The film had an interesting casting journey. Kim Seon-ho was originally cast opposite YoonA in September 2021 but withdrew due to personal controversy. Ahn Bo Hyun joined the project in December 2021, and filming began in April 2022.
The promotional poster was revealed at the 2024 Cannes Film Festival in May, where YoonA attended alongside director Lee Sang Geun. This Cannes presence highlighted the film's international appeal.
YoonA brings momentum from her recent success with "King the Land" (2023), which topped Netflix's global charts for three consecutive weeks. Ahn Bo Hyun's recent work in "Flex X Cop" has also garnered attention, making their pairing highly anticipated.
"Pretty Crazy" is scheduled for release in South Korea in 2025. The film promises to blend supernatural elements with romantic comedy, offering viewers a unique take on love, identity, and redemption through its intriguing premise of dual personalities and late-night mysteries.
