Samsung Galaxy S7 Leaked Features Excite Buyers; Details Released!
A new Samsung Galaxy S7 leak showed that the upcoming handset will get a benchmark-setting chipset, according to MobiPicker.
The new leak from China is a screenshot of the AnTuTu Benchmark scores of a Samsung device with the Exynos 8890 SoC. It scored a record-breaking 103,692 points, which is a lot more than 65,179 by the previous top scorer, Huawei's Kirin 950.
Even with the impressive benchmark results, it is hard to tell if a device carrying the Exynos 8890 chipset would be available worldwide. Other Samsung Galaxy S7 leaks suggest that the United States and China will get a different chipset, the Snapdragon 820, according to Alphr. South Korea and the rest of the world will still receive the higher-end Galaxy S7 with Exynos 8890.
Another Samsung Galaxy S7 leak is the possible return to expandable memory, which was dropped in the latest models, the Galaxy S6 and the Galaxy Note 5, according to Forbes. The main reason for the about-face in terms of expandable memory is the negative feedback received by the company for its latest models.
The consumer backlash on Samsung's move to drop the expandable memory was used by rivals to highlight their own handsets. Forbes also noted that it is not beneath Samsung to "shun convention in order to secure sales," which is why they removed SD cards on their devices, in the first place.
With consumers clamoring for the return of the expandable memory, Samsung could possibly be convinced and give them what they want.
Aside from the benchmark-setting chipset and return of the expandable memory, another notable Samsung Galaxy S7 leak is the device's release date. The rumored availability is sometime around January or February next year, as reported by Alphr. This is right in time for the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona.
Other rumored features of the Samsung Galaxy S7 include 5.2-inch screen, a 3D Touch-like pressure sensitive display, and 3-4GB of RAM, according to Gadgets 360.
