aespa's Karina to Perform Solo at Waterbomb Seoul 2025

aespa's leader Karina will make her solo debut at Waterbomb Seoul 2025, performing on July 5 at the KINTEX Outdoor Global Stage in Ilsan, Goyang City.
Waterbomb Festival organizers announced the news on June 10 through their official website and social media. This marks Karina's first individual appearance at Korea's premier summer music festival, which runs from July 4-6.
Waterbomb is South Korea's largest water-themed music festival, combining live performances with water cannon shows and audience water fights. The festival has additional stops planned for Busan (July 26) and Sokcho (August 23).
Karina released her solo track "UP" in October 2024 as part of aespa's "SYNK: PARALLEL LINE" digital single. The hip-hop dance track, which she co-wrote, peaked at number 2 on South Korea's Circle Chart and earned her first solo music show award.
Since debuting with aespa in 2020, the group has achieved massive success with hits like "Black Mamba," "Next Level," "Savage," and "Supernova." aespa previously performed as a group at Waterbomb Seoul in 2023.
Karina will perform alongside Jay Park, HUTA, fromis_9, Jeon Somi, NCT's Ten, Loco, Lee Young-ji, tripleS, and WEDEMBOYZ on July 5. The full festival lineup includes ITZY, 2NE1, EXO's Kai, KISS OF LIFE, and others.
The announcement has generated mixed reactions online, with over 56,000 views and 800 comments on community boards. While some fans expressed excitement, others questioned whether Karina has enough solo material for a full performance.
