BTS RM and V Complete Military Service, Reunite with Fans in Chuncheon
BTS members RM and V officially completed their mandatory South Korean military service on June 10, 2025, greeting fans at a special discharge event in Chuncheon, Gangwon Province.
The two members met with dozens of fans at the Sports Park in Sinbuk-eup, Chuncheon, on Tuesday morning. Dressed in their army uniforms, both members saluted the crowd and promised they would soon return to performing. Fans celebrated the moment by releasing balloons to honor the occasion.
"To all the ARMYs who have waited for us in the military, I want to say I am truly, truly grateful. Please wait just a little longer and we will return with a really cool performance," V said in front of fans and media.
RM expressed his eagerness to return to the stage, saying "(Members) would feel the same, but stage performance, I want to perform the most. I'll work hard to make an album soon and come back to the stage," after playing the saxophone for the crowd.
Both members faithfully completed their mandatory military service-RM as part of the 15th Division's military band, and V as a member of the Special Task Force under the Army's 2nd Corps Military Police. They enlisted together on December 11, 2023.
During his service, RM showcased his musical talents by playing saxophone in the military band, while V served in an elite unit handling high-stakes operations including counter-terrorism and VIP protection.
The discharge marks a significant step toward BTS's complete reunion. Jimin and Jungkook are scheduled to be discharged on June 11, followed by Suga, who is serving as a public service worker, on June 21, 2025. Jin and J-Hope have already completed their service and returned to solo activities.
HYBE is planning BTS FESTA this week to celebrate the band's 12th anniversary. The agency has decorated its headquarters with "WE ARE BACK" banners, and J-Hope is confirmed to perform at the anniversary celebrations on June 13-14 at Goyang Stadium.
With all seven members set to complete their service by the end of June, 2025 is shaping up to be the year of BTS's highly anticipated reunion as a complete group.
