Two of Former IZ*ONE Members to Possibly Appear on ‘Queendom Puzzle’
The Mnet show Queendome Puzzle responded to the numerous rumors on April 19 KST in relation to the appearances of Nako Yabuki and Honda Itomi into the show. The two mentioned are former members of the girl group IZ*ONE.
"It's a difficult stage to talk about as the overall casting is in progress." They stated. The show is a program that followed the format of Comeback War: Queendom and Queendom 2. It combines current and former group members like puzzle piece to order to complete a global project girl group which is slated to be aired in June.
Many are looking forward to the possible appearances of Yabuki and Honda as the former IZ*ONE members were formed through Mnet's Produce 48. The Queendom Puzzle production team released a statement previously that "We plan to unveil a lineup of participating artists that will surprise everyone in May."
IZ*ONE (pronounced as "eyes one") was a South Korean-Japanese girl group formed through the reality competition show Produce 48 in 2018. The group consisted of 12 members: Jang Won-young, Miyawaki Sakura, Jo Yu-ri, Choi Ye-na, Ahn Yu-jin, Yabuki Nako, Kwon Eun-bi, Kang Hye-won, Honda Hitomi, Kim Chae-won, Kim Min-ju, and Lee Chae-yeon.
The group debuted on October 29, 2018, with their first extended play (EP) titled "ColorIz," which included their debut single "La Vie en Rose." They went on to release several successful albums and singles in both Korean and Japanese, including "BloomIZ," "Oneiric Diary," and "Twelve."
However, their contract with their agency, Off The Record, and their Japanese management agency, AKS, was set to expire in April 2021. The group held their final concert in April 2021 and disbanded as planned after two and a half years of activities.
