Lee Young Ae Donates to Victims of Guryong Village Fire
The Korea Foundation for Persons with Disabilities stated that Korean actress Lee Young Ae has donated 50 million Won ($40,577.86 USD) to the victims of the massive fire that happened in Guryong Village located in Gangnam, Seoul. Over 500 people were evacuated, displacing 60 residents and destroyed 60 homes.
"My heart ached hearing the news about the residents of Guryong Village who've lost their homes and whose lives have become more difficult due to the sudden fire. I wanted to help those suffering at least a bit." Lee Young Ae stated. She asked that her donation will immediately be used to assist the families of the victims.
Lee Young Ae is notable for her role of the 2003 historical drama Dae Jang Geum. She was also in Park Chan-wook's 2005 crime thriller film Sympathy for Lady Vengeance in which she won Best Actress Awards at the 38th Sitges Film Festival, 42 Baeksang Arts Awards, and 26ht Blue Dragon Film Awards.
