All 162 passengers of AirAsia QZ8501 killed after the plane crashed into the Java Sea on December 28, 2014. Investigators of the incident revealed on Tuesday that the crash was reportedly due to a faulty component of the plane and the way pilots acted on a technical failure, CNN noted.

"Subsequent flight crew action resulted in inability to control the aircraft ... causing the aircraft to depart from the normal flight envelope and enter a prolonged stall condition that was beyond the capability of the flight crew to recover," Indonesia's National Transport Safety Committee (NTSC) said in a report.

USA Today reported that the Singapore-bound plane vanished from the radar screens about 40 minutes after it took off from Indonesia.

"The degraded performance and ambiguous commands might have decreased the SIC's (co-pilot) situational awareness and he did not react appropriately in this complex emergency resulting in the aircraft becoming upset," the report said.

On the other hand, the manufacturer of the passenger plane said in a dispatch that they are looking into the report by the NTSC.

"We are now carefully studying its content," Airbus said. "With safety being top priority, Airbus is fully committed to push the safety track record of our industry even further."

Meanwhile, AirAsia CEO Tony Fernandes extended his condolences to the bereaved families of those who were killed by the tragic incident last year.

"There is much to be learned here for Airasia, the manufacturer and the aviation@ industry," Fernandes wrote on his Twitter account. "We will not leave any stone unturned to make sure the industry learns from this tragic incident."

On the other hand, an investigator of the incident suggested AirAsia to train their pilots.

"Our recommendation to AirAsia is to train their pilots flying the Airbus plane on how to make an upset recovery," investigator Nurcahyo Utomo said.

Reports have revealed that the plane wreckage was found a few days after the plane crashed into the Java Sea. Majority of the passengers on board were Indonesians. Out of the 162 passengers, only 106 remains have been recovered.
