BTS, BLACKPINK, TWICE, And More K-Pop Acts Secure MTV EMA 2022 Nominations

The nominees for the 2022 MTV Europe Music Awards are out and some of the biggest K-Pop acts have secured a spot on this year's nominations!

Presented by the Paramount International Networks, the MTV Europe Music Awards or most commonly refered to as the EMAs, is an annual year-end awards ceremony that recognizes the biggest musical acts in pop culture. The 2022 EMAs is set to take places at the PSD Bank Dome Düsseldorf, Germany this November 13.

Check out the K-Pop acts who are nominated in this year's MTV EMA.

BTS

Once again, HYBE's BTS makes an appearance in this year's list of MTV EMA nominees. BTS is currently nominated for three categories: "Best K-Pop," "Biggest Fans," and "Best Metaverse Performance."

BLACKPINK

The quartet from YG Entertainment secured four nominations this year. In particular, BLACKPINK is nominated for "Best Video" for their most recent MV, "Pink Venom." The girl group is also nominated for "Best K-Pop," "Best Metaverse Performance," and "Biggest Fans." Meanwhile, BLACKPINK member, Lisa, is also nominated for "Best K-Pop."

SEVENTEEN

It is SEVENTEEN's first time to be nominated in the MTV EMAs and the HYBE boy group secured three nominations in total. SEVENTEEN is nominated for "Best New Act," "Best Push Artist," and "Best K-Pop."

TWICE

The nonet from JYP Entertainment also bagged a nomination in this year's EMAs. TWICE is up for the "Best K-Pop" award.

Tomorrow x Together

TxT is the only fourth-generation K-Pop boy group to be nominated in the 2022 MTV EMA. The HYBE boy group is also nomineted for "Best K-Pop" just like its fellow labelmates, SEVENTEEN and BTS. In addition, TxT is also nominated for the "Best Asia Act."

ITZY

Completing the nominees for the "Best K-Pop" category is JYP Entertainment's ITZY. It is the first time for ITZY to secure a nomination in the EMAs. It is also huge feat for the fourth-generation girl group to vy for the "Best K-Pop" awards alongside its seniors.
