On the 21st of April episode of SBS' popular program "Circle House," Leejung talked about her time living in the United States when she was young. The dancer notably left Korea to receive education in the United States when she was 11, spending about five years studying in Tennessee.

Notably, Leejung revealed, "I went to school in the States. The middle school that went to had no other Asians. I was the only Asian in my school."

Leejung went on to ad that during every break, the students at her school would come to her classroom to 'watch' her. At the time, she did not know what to do as she was not sure how to respond to what was happening.

At the time, Leejung expressed that there were specific questions that the other students would commonly ask her. The dancer shared, "When I told them that I was from Korea, they would ask me whether I was from the North or South. A lot of their questions were similar to this."

Adding to this, Leejung also remarked that the other students also asked if she was related to Bruce Lee mainly due to the fact that she had the same last name as the late actor and martial artist. Following this, Leejung admitted how she dealt with the other students at that time.

As per Leejung, since she was still young, she thought it was best to answer each of the other students' questions and explain some remarks. But the dancer went on to realize that this was not the best way to deal with the racism. As per Leejung, even after she answered the questions, nothing changed.

"It was better for me to just ignore them, and wait for them to realize their ignorance themselves. There was no need for me to respond to each one of them," Leejung continued.
