BTS Latest Hit ‘Butter’ Is The First Song In Spotify Japan To Hit More Than 500,000 Streams In One Day
The latest song of hit K-pop boy group BTS titled "Butter" definitely melted the hearts of many as it was recently reported that the song is the first in Spotify Japan's history to have received more than 500,000 streams in a day. This is another record conquered for the Bangtan Boys.
"Butter" is at #1 in Spotify Japan. Second in the ranks is Yuri's song titled "Dry Flower" with 309,643 streams in the day, and third is BTS other big hit, "Dynamite" at 299,210 streams in one day.
In relation to Spotify, ARMY recently demanded answers from the popular streaming platform as fans claim that the platform is filtering the number of streams. ARMY's vocal posts on social media have caused the words "Investigate Spotify" and the hashtag #InvestigateSpotify to trend on Twitter. According to reports, "Butter" has an unfiltered global stream of 20.9 million and 11.042 million filtered global streams on the day of its release. If the numbers are combined and accurately recorded, "Butter" could be the most-stream song ever in the history of Spotify.
"Butter" was released on May 21, 2021, at 13:00 Korea Standard Time or 12 midnight Eastern Standard Time. Its label, HYBE reported previously that the single is sure to melt the hearts of ARMYs.
BTS or Bangtan Sonyeondan made its debut in 2010 under the South Korean record label Big Hit Entertainment. The group consists of the following members: Jimin, SUGA, RM, Jin, Jung Kook, V, and J-Hope.
The group recently won the 2021 MTV Movie & TV Music Awards for "Best Music Documentary" for "Break The Silence: The Movie." "Break The Silence: The Movie" is a documentary film released in 2020 features behind the scene videos of BTS in preparation for their 2018-2019 "Love Yourself Tour." The announcement of their win in the MTV awards is a complete 180 from the 2021 BRIT Awards as ARMYs raged online for BTS did not win the award for Best International Group.
