Actor Seo In Guk Is Returning To The Big Screen With Movie ‘Pipeline’
"Reply 1997" star Seo In Guk is returning to the big screen with a new action movie.
More than eight years after his performance as the swimming prodigy in the 2013 movie "No Breathing," Seo In Guk is set to star in "Pipeline." The 33-year-old idol-turned actor will portray the role of Pindol who is pipeline drillining technician in Korea and considered as one of the best in his field. He meets an heir of large conglomerated who promises him 1 billion won or approximately $886,689 US dollars in exchange for pulling off an oil heist. The upcoming comedy-action movie is directed by Yoo Ha and was also written by him alongside Kim Kyung Chan.
Seo In Guk's Pindol is tasked to lead a dangerous oil heist that targets to drill into the biggets oil pipeline in South Korea. In a recent press conference, Seo In Guk expressed his surprise about the movie's concept and shared that he was not familiar about the concept of an oil heist. Additionally, the actor also said that he has never seen any Korean movie to similar concept with that of "Pipeline."
Meanwhile, expectations are high for the movie "Pipeline" as the director behind it is also known for some of his critically acclaimed films including "Marriage Is a Crazy Thing (2002)," "Once Upon a Time in High School (2004)," "A Dirty Carnival (2006)," "A Frozen Flower (2008)," "Howling (2012)," and "Gangnam 1970 (2015)."
Starring alongside Seo In Guk are Lee Soo Hyuk as the conglomerate heir Gun Woo, Eum Moon Suk as Jeop Sae a.k.a "New Bird," Yoo Seung Mok as Section chief Na, Tae Hang Ho as Geun Sab a.k.a "Big Shovel," and Bae Da Bin as "Counter."
Seo In Guk's upcoming comedy-action movie will hit local South Korean theaters on May 26, Wednesday.
