Samsung to Introduce New Economical Mobile Phone, M12 In South Korea

This week, South Korea will now get its hands on Samsung's new economical mobile phone, the M12. The smartphone manufacturer considers expanding its mobile sales in the country by rolling out economic models.

Samsung Galaxy M12 will be available in South Korea on Wednesday (April 28) through online sales channels. The new economical mobile phone costs 198,000 won or $180. It is also released in select markets, which include Britain, India, and Vietnam.

The smartphone's screen measures 6.5 inches and is equipped with a quad-rear camera setup. It boasts a 48-megapixel(MP) main shooter and a 5MP ultrawide camera. It is also geared with a 2MP depth sensor, 2MP macro lens, and an 8MP front camera.

Samsung Galaxy M12 is powered by Samsung's Exynos 850 processor. Its handset offers 3GB RAM with 32GB internal storage, which can expand up to 1TB through a microSD card. It comes in an array of colors, including black, blue, white, red, yellow, and green.

It has been given new software updates for Samsung Pay Mini. It is a mobile payment service, which enables users to make online payments and payments at retail locations using QR codes. The feature was initiated following the security patch installation last month.

The mobile payment service was released four years ago and was initially limited to Galaxy A, Galaxy J, and Galaxy On series devices. Samsung Pay Mini is linkable to mobile wallets such as Paytm and Mobikwik as well as bank accounts through India's BHIM UPI interface. Moreover, users can pay their bills, buy gift cards, apply for personal loans and credit cards, and learn their credit score.

The tech giant began pulling out MST (Magnetic Secure Transmission) from its most recent phones. It's because most PoS systems feature NFC. It means that Samsung Pay Mini will not work on PoS (Point of Sale) terminals which has no NFC functionality.
