Making Your Own Ramyeon At Home

Korean Ramyeon

Like the ones in Japan, South Korea also has their different take on instant ramen. The big difference is that it is spicy, unlike the ordinary ones. Every sip and smell of the Korean Ramyeon just gives you a taste of the country.

This week we are going to give you some tips on how to make the perfect Ramyeon at home that would not only be a great treat for yourself but also for your loved ones who crave something delicious and spicy.

Picking Instant Ramyeon Noodles

We just wanted to make it clear that unlike Japan, when the ramen noodles can be made fresh or instant, Korean Ramyeon Noodles will always remain instant. If you're worried about the spiciness level, you don't need to worry as many manufacturers have Ramyeon in various levels of spiciness. You can ask your local supermarket for assistance.

Making Your Ramyeon Better

To make your Ramyeon taste a little better than the ones that come in the packaging, here are there things that you should have: 1 package of Korean ramyeon, water (around 2 ½ cups), 1 egg, and 2 chopped green onions. There is an opinion that you can add more vegetables or some meat to your ramyeon. You can even spice it up by adding Kimchi. There's no harm in experimenting with what works for you.

Before putting the noodles into the pot, make sure that the water is boiling over high heat first. You can then put in the noodles and open the packaging containing the Ramyeons flavor and spices. Cover the pot for a minute or two, then stir the noodles around with a spoon. After one to two minutes, crack one egg on top of the noodles and cover it. We recommend that you do not stir or break it so that the egg will be cooked poached. Turn down the heat and add in your green onions and your other additional cooked ingredients into your Ramyeon (e.g., vegetables, meat, etc.)

We hope this little guide would help you make the simple yet perfect ramen to have at any time of the day!
