J.Lo And A-Rod Split: Ex-Couple "Better Off As Friends"
Many fans were shocked when couple J.Lo and A-Rod announced their break up. Both said they are "better off as friends." On Thursday, Jennifer Lopez and Alex Rodriguez ended their two-year engagement.
"We have realized we are better as friends and look forward to remaining so. We will continue to work together and support each other on our shared businesses and projects. We wish the best for each other, and one another's children. Out of respect for them, the only other comment we have to say is thank you to everyone who has sent kind words and support," said Lopez's representative in a statement.
The revelation of J.Lo and A-Rod split came a month after they confirmed reports that they decided to separate and were "working through some things."
Singer and actress Lopez and former New York Yankees baseball star Rodriguez have been one of the biggest celebrity couples in the US for the past four years. They are sometimes known as "J-Rod" in media and said they would keep silent regarding the call off of their engagement. This is out of respect for their children from their past relationships.
Late last year, the ex-couple delayed their wedding two times due to the pandemic.
The Puerto Rican celebrity was born in New York and started her career as a singer and dancer. She produced and cast in the "Hustlers" film in 2019. She rose into stardom by also appearing in other movies and TV programs apart from her hits such "Let's Get Loud," "Jenny from the Block," "Waiting for Tonight," and more.
Rodriguez, on the other hand, ended his 22-year baseball career in which he made 696 home runs. This placed him on the number four spot on Major League Baseball's all-time home run list.
The ex-couple have been together since 2017 and were engaged since March 2019. They ended their four-year-long engagement providing no clue as to why.
