Last Chapter Of ‘Attack On Titan’ Manga Leads Magazine To Issue A Reprint

The "Attack on Titan" manga by Hajime Isayama has recently concluded as the final chapter was released on the May issue of Kodansha's Bessatsu Shonen Magazine on the 9th of April. Many people of Japan have been looking forward to the conclusion of the series that this specific magazine issue is almost sold out.

In a report, the editor for the manga announced that a reprint of the said magazine issue would be released on the 30th of April. "Attack on Titan" manga has been published in Bessatsu Shonen Magazine for eleven and half years. The 34th and final volume of the manga will be released in Japan on the 9th of June. There is still no word for when the manga volume will be released in English.

"Attack on Titan" tells the story of Eren Yeagar, who lives with his foster sister Mikasa Ackerman and his best friend Armin Arlert in a town that is adjacent to Wall Maria. The huge wall covers the whole town as a way of protection from the Titans, the giant creatures that eat humans. Various troops or legions are tasked to protect the citizens from these Titans using special maneuver gears that can hook on walls and use to travel or cling to one part of a Titan and attack them.

Fans who have read the last chapter were emotional, especially those who have been following the manga on its almost twelve-year run. Some have mixed opinions on the ending, saying that there could be a possible sequel in the works. As of press time, there has been no announcement so far regarding this possibility.

The manga also has paved the way for an anime adaptation which debuted in the Bessatsu Shonen Magazine on the 9th of September 2009. The anime adaptation's first season premiered on the 7th of April 2013. The said manga was such a massive success in Japan that it had won awards such as the Kodansha Manga Award, Harvey Award, and the Micheluzzi Award.
