[VIDEO CLIP] 'Ghostbusters: Afterlife' Features Lovable But Dreadful Mini Puft Characters
It has been a while since a "Ghostbusters" movie hit the theaters. A character is making a comeback in the new "Ghostbusters: Afterlife" movie, the lovable but dreadful mini Marshmallow Men.
Moviegoers can recall the huge Stay Puft Marshmallow Man that wreaked havoc in the busy streets of New York from the 1984 original movie. On Wednesday, Sony Pictures released a clip from "Ghostbusters: Afterlife" and unveiled the smaller versions that are sure to cause more chaos.
"Ghostbusters: Afterlife" will bring together most of the original stars of the initial two Ghostbusters movies. It's on a fast track to moviehouses, to begin with, but was delayed due to the pandemic. To appease the fans, a short video clip was released to give them a glimpse of the much-awaited movie of all time.
In the video clip, Paul Rudd (as Mr. Grooberson) encountered numerous "Mini-Pufts" coming out from marshmallow bags. These mini versions of the enormous Marshmallow Man start creating mayhem in the grocery store.
"Ghostbusters: Afterlife" is originally to hit theaters on March 5 of this year for direct competition with Warner Bros.'s new "Tom and Jerry" movie. However, it was postponed from June 11, 2021, to July 10, 2020, and was pushed back again to November 11, 2021. It's not yet clear if Sony Pictures will delay the movie further. However, it looks like the date is settled for a late 2021 release.
Jason Reitman is the director of "Ghostbusters: Afterlife." His career took off as a director over the past decades. His feature-length movie debut was "Thank You For Smoking" in 2005, which starred Aaron Eckhart.
Casts include Finn Wolfhard (as Trevor), Mckenna Grace (as Phoebe), Carrie Coon (as Callie), Sigourney Weaver (as Dana Barrett), Bill Murray (as Dr. Peter Venkman), Oliver Cooper (as Elton), Bokeem Woodbine (as Sheriff Domingo), and many more.
