According to reports, the hit Korean drama starring Son Ye Jin and Hyun Bin will be adapted into a musical by 2022. Sources from Pop Music and T2n Media have also revealed that the production companies have already completed the signing of global publication rights with Studio Dragon.

Furthermore, the production companies have announced that they are planning to carry out the musical performances for "Crash Landing On You" in mid-2022, starting in Seoul, South Korea.

"We concluded the deal for publication rights with Studio Dragon, and we plan to start choosing the main staff and begin casting. We will do our best to create a good project. In particular, since it's a project in which the fame of the source IP (intellectual property) is very large, we've already received inquiries from many actors and foreign production companies," Pop Music CEO Kim Jin Seok announced.

"Crash Landing On You" has become a global phenomenon that skyrocketed the fame of co-actors turned real-life lovers, Son Ye Jin, and Hyun Bin. The drama revolves around the secret love story of a South Korean chaebol heiress Yoon Se Ri (played by Son Ye Jin) and North Korean special officer, Captain Lee Jung Hyuk (played by Hyun Bin). The two crossed paths after a paragliding incident brought Yoon Se Ri beyond the border and into North Korean territory, where Captain Ri goes out of his way to protect her and help her go back to the South.

The drama was the highest-rated tvN drama in history. "Crash Landing On You" has recorded an average nationwide rating of 21.7% and a peak viewership rating of 24.1. It has also garnered global love after it was released through the streaming platform Netflix.
