[EXCLUSIVE] BTS To Perform In The Grammys!
BTS, the world's most sought-after k-pop boy group, has been confirmed to join the prestigious music awards, The Grammys. According to recent reports, the seven-member group will be joining other international stars in performing hit songs for the show.
The Recording Academy released an article today announcing the BTS will be one of the performers for the 63rd Grammy Awards happening on March 14, 2021.
Furthermore, the group has also been nominated for the Best Pop Duo/Group Performance for their single Dynamite, and they promised to bring the fire and set the night alight at the Grammys with their heart-stopping performance.
Their set is yet to be revealed, but fans have already bet on the songs the group will most likely perform for the global award show.
Other nominees in the Best Pop Duo/Group Performance category are the following, J. Balvin, Dua Lipa, Bad Bunny, and TAINY for their song "UN DIA (One Day)," "Intentions" by Justin Beiber featuring Quavo, "Rain On Me" by Lady Gaga, and "Exile" by Taylor Swift featuring Bon Iver.
This news marks the first time a Korean act will perform as an official nominee in the Grammys-a very big step for K-pop's music industry.
BTS's fans who call themselves ARMYs have already started a hashtag on Twitter #BTSGrammyPerformers, which has trended all over the world.
In the past weeks, BTS's performance for MTV's Unplugged episode put them in the spotlight, especially after the massive positive reaction to their cover of "Fix You" originally by the band Coldplay.
Fans believe that the Bangtan Boys have a very big chance if they plan to cross over to the United States, which many K-pop acts have tried. Most well known to have slightly succeeded are groups like YG's Big Bang and 2NE1.
This is a developing story. Updates on BTS's Grammys performance will be reported.
