'Bridgerton' Actor Regé-Jean Page Will Be Hosting 'Saturday Night Live'
"Saturday Night Live" has unveiled on its official Twitter account "Bridgerton" star Regé-Jean Page will be hosting its February 20th episode.
It will be his first hosting gig in the entertainment industry.
"Saturday Night Live" is a late-night live television sketch comedy and variety show in the United States. It premiered in 1975 with the original title, "NBC's Saturday Night."
Regé-Jean Page, who portrays Simon Basset, Duke of Hastings in the Netflix series "Bridgerton," will be joined by musical guest Bad Bunny who has been nominated for two Grammys.
Regé-Jean Page has roots in the African country Zimbabwe despite being an English actor. He has been known for his portrayal of Chicken George in the 2016 miniseries "Roots" and was a cast member on ABC's legal drama, "For The People."
He is nominated for an NAACP Image Award and two Screen Actors Guild Awards.
The Netflix series "Bridgerton" has been one of the most popular original series on the streaming platform after its launch on Christmas Day.
Already confirmed that it would be having its second season, "Bridgerton" is a period drama series based on the novels written by Julia Quinn featuring the competitive world of Regency London where debutants are presented into the court. It is said to be Regency England's version of "Gossip Girl."
It follows Daphne Bridgerton, portrayed by Phoebe Dynevor, the eldest daughter of the Bridgerton family, as she is presented in the London society hoping to find a match, yet her choice must be approved by her oldest brother Anthony, Viscount Bridgerton, reprised by Jonathan Bailey. Daphne is named crown jewel by Queen Charlotte, reprised by Golda Rosheuvel, but becomes the subject of a gossip paper written by a mysterious Lady Whistledown, voiced by "The Sound of Music" star Julie Andrews, stirring up drama among friends, families, and outsiders.
