It is also the time for families to bond together in the kitchen. Without further ado, here are the best foods you can serve to welcome the Year of the Ox. 

Good fortune fruits: Wealth

The tradition of serving round fruits during the New Year could have begun with the Chinese. Symbolizing wealth and fullness, fortune fruits like oranges and tangerines can bring good luck. Meanwhile, pomelos will bring continuous prosperity. 

Chinese dumplings: Wealth

Served during Chinese New Year for over a century, dumplings are a classic lucky food. They consist of minced meat and finely-chopped vegetables wrapped in elastic and thin dough skin. Fillings include fish, vegetables, ground chicken, minced pork, and so much more. They can be cooked by steaming, baking, frying, or boiling.
