Facebookstarted to put their app's new tool to test for couples who recently broke up that will avoid them seeing any post from their exes.

Kelly Winters, Facebook's product manager said, "Starting today, we are testing tools to help people manage how they interact with their former partners on Facebook after a relationship has ended," Wired reported. "When people change their relationship status to indicate they are no longer in a relationship, they will be prompted to try these tools," the statement continued.

The Facebook app's new breakup tool will allow users to filter their newsfeed updates to see less of their ex-partner's posts and profile pictures without the need to use the block or unfriend options. Posts and photos that their ex is tagged in will no longer appear on the news feed or any updates related to them will be completely hidden, according to Facebook Newsroom.

"This work is part of our ongoing effort to develop resources for people who may be going through difficult moments in their lives," reported E! Online.  We hope these tools will help people end relationships on Facebook with greater ease, comfort and sense of control," the statement continued.

The app's new tool is available since Thursday that allows a user to limit friends and Facebook viewers to check past photos or memories tagged with their ex, according to Tech Times.

This feature will help people who recently experienced breakups to recover from a painful memory. The tool is already available for Facebook users in United States, according to Engadget.

The Facebook app breakup tool lets a user simply remove anything related to their ex's from social media account. If a certain user is going to utilize the tool, the company assured that a notification would not appear at the other party's end, according to Daily Mail
