The family of Larry King has shared their official statement after their father's death. A world-renowned broadcaster, who has worked in the media industry for 63 years, has died at 87.

Larry King's family has publicized their official statement of his passing on the Twitter account of the television and radio show host. It read, "We are heartbroken over our father's death, and, together with our extended family, mourn his passing."

It also said how the world knew Larry King as "a great broadcaster and interviewer." It was signed by his sons Larry King, Jr., Chance King and Cannon King.

"... To us, he was 'dad.' He was the man who lovingly obsessed over our daily schedules and our well-being, and who took immense pride in our accomplishments-large, small, and imagined," the letter said.

The broadcasting legend had recently been hospitalized due to COVID-19, enduring health problems for several years, including a near-fatal stroke in 2019 and diabetes, but the cause of death was not immediately publicized, the statement from Ora Media, his TV production company, stated.

Celebrities, world leaders, and more prominent personalities mourned the death of Larry King. Former government of Arkansas, Mike Huckabee, remembered the broadcaster as "a consummate pro and a great interviewer."

"My times with Larry King were some of my best memories of a tough but totally fair host, Huckabee wrote on Twitter.

On the other hand, Andy Cohen, also a radio and television talk show host, recalls Larry King's relaxed delivery amid conversational interviews with famous personalities.

Cohen tweeted, "... I loved the easy breezy format of his CNN show, and his amazing voice."

The music industry also paid tribute to the late TV and radio host. Celine Dion posted a touching tweet, "There will never be anyone like him, and he will be missed by many. My sincerest condolences to his family & friends."

Larry King has received global acclaim and awards for his interviews in radio, television, and digital media.

"... He was fiercely loyal to those lucky enough to call him a friend. We will miss him every single day of our lives," Larry King's family said.
