CL: The K-Pop Queen Is Coming Back With ‘+ALPHA+’ Album
Since the release of her banger double singles "+HWA+" and "+5 STAR+" last October 2020, fans have been eagerly waiting for a full album comeback from K-Pop's queen, CL.
Following the release, however, CL announced that she would be postponing her album "+ALPHA+." While in America, CL is busy preparing for 2021 and, of course, her comeback album. However, she thought of more ideas and finally decided to postpone the release of her comeback album. Furthermore, the Korean Pop icon revealed that "+ALPHA+" would be her very first physical album, and as an artist, she wants it to be perfect
In a recent article by Billboard, it was confirmed that CL is finally releasing her debut studio album, +ALPHA+, in the first half of this year.
With this comeback, CL will be taking the indie path that is on the opposite side of her previous management during her 2NE1 days. The K-Pop "Queen" is preparing hard as an independent artist for a meaningful 2021 ahead while drawing inspiration from her experiences in the past years. Through this album, fans can expect to hear CL's candid stories.
As an Indie artist, CL will release her album through her very own company, Very Cherry. On taking a very different path as an artist, CL shared, "I know exactly where I'm going, what I want to do. Of course it's not going to be the same. But this is where I want to start."
CL is embracing her status as an independent artist that is way different than her status as one of the icons of K-Pop globalization. She describes her 2020 comeback to the music scene as a "rebirth," and for the upcoming years to come, fans can only expect the best music that shows a free and candid CL.
"2020 was the beginning of my rebirth and rewriting my own story. I can freely share different sides of me," expressed CL.
Meanwhile, CL is set to collaborate with "Epik High" in their upcoming song "Rosario."
