GOT7 Disbandment Rumors: JYP Entertainment Shockingly Confirms All Members Are Leaving Soon
JYP Entertainment confirmed on Monday, Jan. 11, that all members of GOT7, which is composed of Park Jin Young, JB, Jackson Wang, Mark Tuan, Kim Yugyeom, BamBam and Choi Young Jae, are no longer planning to renew their contract with the agency.
The label released an official statement about the GOT7 members' contract. It stated that JYP Entertainment reached out to Park Jin Young, JB, Jackson Wang, Mark Tuan, Kim Yugyeom, BamBam and Choi Young Jae. After their thorough discussion, the boys decided not to renew their contract anymore.
Despite the heartbreaking decision, JYP Entertainment has acknolwdged how Park Jin Young, JB, Jackson Wang, Mark Tuan, Kim Yugyeom, BamBam and Choi Young Jae have worked so hard to become the global idols they have dreamed of from the very start of their career in 2014. The talent agency even thanked GOT7 for being with the label in the past six years.
JYP Entertainment is very much honored that it has become an essential part of the group's growth and success. The talent agency even stated that it would continue supporting Park Jin Young, JB, Jackson Wang, Mark Tuan, Kim Yugyeom, BamBam and Choi Young Jae in the future even if they are no longer with them.
The official statement from JYP Entertainment came a few days after it was reported that Jin Young, Yugyeom and Youngjae would be signing with new labels. Youngjae is said to be transferring to Sublime Artist while Yugyeom and Jinyoung are, allegedly, signing with AOMG and BH Entertainment, respectively.
As for Jackson Wang, he is said to continue with his Team Wang. Mark Tuan, on the other hand, would go back to the United States and would probably launch his own YouTube channel very soon.
Park Jin Young, JB, Jackson Wang, Mark Tuan, Kim Yugyeom, BamBam and Choi Young Jae have yet to respond to JYP Entertainment's statement.
