The 2020 Mnet Asian Music Awards held a successful awarding event last December 6. Sweeping the Daesangs for the second year in a row is BTS, who have been achieving record-breaking results for their release "Dynamite" and their newest album "Be."

But just a day later, they are already receiving backlash after some revelations.

The awards show is under fire after it was revealed that there were no waiting rooms that have been set up for the idol groups who were there to receive their awards. There were many photos from fansites who showed the idols just waiting at the parking lot and in their cars before they were called to the stage.

This is in stark contrast to the actors who came as presenters. For the actors, there were waiting rooms and even catering for actors and staff awaiting their turn at the podium. Some idol themselves posted pictures of them inside the car and the like.

Many netizens were mad at the clear discrimination between the two groups. They are asking why the actors were being treated like royalty when it is the idol groups from which Mnet is earning money. After all, it is a music award show. Add to the fact is that it's already December, and it is already very cold in Korea, so the least that Mnet could have done was provide ample space for the idols. While Mnet has not addressed the backlash, they did put up a survey where they have asked for feedback regarding the event.

Meanwhile, some artists who attended MAMA also had to undergo testing after it was revealed that singer Chungha had tested positive for the disease. It turns out that she had dinner with TWICE's Sana before her results came out. As a result, all members of TWICE were tested, and the results were negative for all.
